Poems written by Amy Turner / Allan from the heart.
The Places I've Been,
The memories I can look back through,
When I’m not able to, Step outside, Pick up the phone, Look alive, Rant and moan, Ask for help, Speak my mind, Shout and yelp, Keep track of time, Wash and dress, Feel my best, Laugh and giggle, Remember to tiddle, I can look back on, the places I’ve been, and the things I’ve seen, knowing I have friends, to care, and bends, to keep me safe! - Amy Turner, Match, 2018. Extension
And then came the house's extention,
Way, way, way back in September, Once we'd got the permission, We hoped it be done by December. It all started with a drafty house, All doors and walls disappeared, We had to pee as quiet as a mouse, As for making extra noises we feared. Next came the days of banging, Loud noises, dust and drilling, Just when we hit rock bottom, Outside turned into autumn. Not only did it get colder, But the builders got much bolder, Nicking spades, rakes and a hen? And blocking off our mini kitchen. Many nights spent unspoken, As we all dealt with being awoken, Coming home was sometimes testing, Finding other places to do our washing. Looking back, we did quiet good, To not give each other the right hook! Looking forward, to 2016, Aren't we lucky to have been, Through an extension, With lots of tension, That now means we can live happily. Merry Birthday Mum! And a Happy New House :) - Amy Turner, 2015. WhenYour Dude
It’s
One of those days, With simple ways, Puffy eyes, And yummy pies, Where bed is our friend, To ensure theres no end, When hugs mean the world, And we feel we’re gonna hurl, We didn’t chose the life, Or to use a knife, To cut the atmosphere, In totally utter fear, Mental illness, Is sometimes a curse, If we can work together, We can avoid the hearse, In reality, It’s invisible, Take responsibility, And be incredible, We are ALL learning, Which comes first, To things such as earning, Not hunger and thirst, Be kind, Hug lots, Leave things behind, And grow huuuuge new pots. - Amy Rhianna Turner, 31st May 2018.
